Shannon Devlaminck

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished Shannon, in the loving arms of his wife and in the presence of his family on February 5, 2025 at 46 years of age.

Beloved husband of 16 years to Vicki. Adored father of Austin (Olivia), William (Katrina), Gavin and Taigan.

Loving “Pipi” of Oliver and Jackson. Treasured son of Bob & Christine.

Dear brother of Corrine Sweet (Trevor), and Shawn (Sara). Adored grandson of Zoe & the late Frank Devlaminck, as well as the late Emiel & Germaine Pynenbrouck. Son-in-law of Randy and Karen Parent, and the late Dale Stewart (Barb).

Dear brother-in-law of Jason Parent, Jon Parent (Kathy), Stephanie Glogowski (Dan), Amy Parent-Jacobs (Nick), and Tiffany Stewart-Buchanan (Omar). He will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends, especially Jenni Geroux.

Shannon was a huge fan of NASCAR and Harry Potter. He was a loyal friend, a loving father and grandfather, and wonderful husband. We were all so lucky to have him in our lives.

Thank you to everyone who has sent kind words, and kept Shannon in your thoughts and prayers in these last days. If you sent him a message, know that I read them all to him.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of both Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and London Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care.

In Shannon’s final days, his favourite quote from Harry Potter remained a message of hope and encouragement:

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”.
– Dumbledore
