Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) is calling on the community to help turn empty bottles and cans into lifesaving support for animals in need. The organization’s ongoing Bottle Drive, which runs until February 14, provides a simple yet impactful way for residents to contribute to the care and well-being of rescued pets.
Thanks to the generosity of early donors, PAWR has already received an encouraging amount of recyclables. Each contribution directly supports essential services like food, medical care, and comfortable shelter for the animals under their care.
For those who haven’t yet participated, there’s still time to make a difference. Donations of empty wine bottles, beer cans, plastic containers, and other alcohol-related recyclables are being accepted at the PAWR location at 405 Park Avenue East in Chatham. Contributors are asked to drop off items during regular business hours and look for the trailer near the front of the facility.
A representative from PAWR emphasized the importance of community involvement in initiatives like this. “Every single can or bottle donated adds up,” they explained. “It helps ensure that we can continue to provide vital care for animals waiting for their forever homes.”
This campaign offers a chance for residents to support a meaningful cause while promoting environmental responsibility. By recycling items that might otherwise be discarded, participants are helping PAWR offer second chances to animals in need.
