Two dogs died in a camping trailer fire on Zone 7 Road on February 16, 2025.
“Fire crews from Station #9 – Bothwell, Station #8 – Thamesville responded to 29737 Zone 7 Road, Bothwell for a reported structure fire at 8:39 a.m. on February 16, 2025,” Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue officials said in a media release.
“Upon their arrival they confirmed a fully engulfed mobile home with attached garage and add on buildings along with a camping trailer. The camping trailer on the property was already collapsed from the fire when crews arrived and unfortunately two dogs perished inside.”
Fire officials added: “The tenets of the trailers were not injured. Fire crews worked to control the fire operating a 3-tanker shuttle. Heavy equipment was eventually brought to the scene to pull apart the collapsed structure and complete fire extinguishment.”
Public Works assisted with clearing roads and salting in a rotation following the tanker shuttles.
EMS and Hydro One were also on scene, fire officials added.
No injuries were reported and the cause is undetermined.
