A thrilling new film production, Strange Tales of the South Shore, has begun filming in Chatham, bringing to life eerie and mysterious urban legends from the region.
The production’s first shoot took place on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 52 Adelaide St. N. – a site said to be the haunted setting of Jessie the nun of Adelaide, one of the chilling tales featured in the series.
This locally-produced project will explore the folklore and ghost stories that have been passed down for generations in Chatham and the surrounding areas.
The production team is seeking to connect with locals who have personal stories or knowledge of Jessie the Adelaide Nun or The Baldoon Mystery and are willing to share their experiences to be featured in the series.
“We’re thrilled to bring these local legends to the screen and to invite the community to be a part of the storytelling,” said Ken Amlin, Director and Producer of Strange Tales of the South Shore, in a media release.
“There are so many fascinating and eerie stories in this region, and we want to give them the cinematic treatment they deserve.”
Community members with knowledge of Jessie the Adelaide Nun or The Baldoon Mystery are encouraged to reach out to the production team at strangetalesofthesouthshore@gmail.com to share their stories and potentially be featured in the project.
