Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 2, 2025, at approximately 6:55 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service received two complaints of an insecure property located on St. Clair Street, near Grand Avenue in Chatham.
Officers attended and found the door to a vacant apartment, located above a business, had been kicked in.
Through investigation, evidence left at the scene and comments made by the initial reporter, officers formed grounds to believe the initial reporter was responsible for the damage.
The 48-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date of May 12, 2025.
He has been charged with break and enter.
