Wallaceburg’s Bryan Cowden discusses ‘Light up the Night for Noelle – CK Edition’

Noelle’s Gift to Children is bringing its Light Up the Night for Noelle spring race to Mud Creek Trail in Chatham on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.

Whether you participate as a runner, walker, volunteer, or cheerleader, your presence will make a difference.

This family-friendly event brings the community together in support of Chatham-Kent students.

Dana Haggith caught up with Wallaceburg resident Bryan Cowden, who helping organize the run, for an interview. Listen, below:

“This run is shaping up to be an incredible community event, with schools, families, and locals coming together for a great cause,” says Caress Lee, Co-Chair of the Chatham-Kent chapter.

“It’s about more than raising funds—it’s about uniting to support students and ensuring every child has the brighter future they deserve. Whether you’re running, walking, or volunteering, this event celebrates the power of community. We can’t wait to see the turnout.”

Noelle’s Gift is dedicated to supporting students across Chatham-Kent by providing essential resources like school supplies, nutritious food, clothing, and more.

Through initiatives such as the Student Nutrition Program, the Noelle’s Gift Closet, and emergency support, the organization ensures students can focus on their education without worrying about their basic needs.

The Light Up the Night for Noelle race will help raise the necessary funds to sustain this important work.

“Caress and I have the privilege of seeing the life-changing impact that Noelle’s Gift has on our students and schools each and every day—providing essentials like emergency family support, bolstering student nutrition programs, or something as simple as a new water bottle to help students stay hydrated during the school day,” says Leah Cabral, Co-Chair of the Chatham-Kent chapter.

“We’re excited to expand these fundraising efforts into Chatham-Kent, building on the momentum we’ve seen in Sarnia-Lambton.”

With a 5KM run/walk and a 1KM kids race, this is an event the whole family can enjoy.
