Mr. Anthony “Tony” Vancoillie, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 67.
Tony was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Charles and Helen (Barr) Vancoillie.
Beloved husband of Ruth (Fournier) Vancoillie.
Loving father of Dave (Tiffanie) Vancoillie and Chrissy (Joel) Vandenberg.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Reid, Maddox and Lincoln.
Kind brother of Rick (Kim) Vancoillie, Dan (Carrie) Vancoillie, Michele (Leon) Roegiest and brother-in-law of Vivian McPhee, Rand (Irene) Fournier and Jamie (Paula) Fournier.
Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tony was passionate about sports both playing and coaching hockey. He holds the record for the Wallaceburg Lakers for most points in a single season and was inducted into the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 1–4 p,m. with the service immediately following visitation at 4 p.m., all from the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
