Chatham-Kent is updating its Official Plan to guide growth and infrastructure over the next 25 years.
A public open house to review growth and development options will take place on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Chatham-Kent Civic Centre (315 King Street West, Chatham ON).
“To submit a comment or question, receive additional information, or if you have accessibility requirements to participate, please contact Planning Services at 519.360.1998 or ckplanning@chatham-kent.ca,” Municipal officials say.
“Based on 2023 projections, we expect 122,200 residents by 2051—adding 8,200+ new homes. This update will help manage residential and job growth, protect farmland, and support the agri-food sector. It will also explore expanding urban areas in key communities and strengthening our position in the Hwy 401 business corridor. Let’s plan for a thriving future.”
