Fraud and driving while under suspension charges laid in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 23, 2025, at approximately 11:01 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a traffic stop in Chatham.

Upon stopping, the suspect, a 32-year-old male from Chatham pulled over his vehicle into a driveway.

He then exited the vehicle, fleeing on foot.

Officers pursued the individual, who attempted to enter a nearby residence before ultimately surrendering to police.

The individual was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for fraud under $5,000 and also charged with driving under suspension.

He was released with a court date scheduled May 26, 2025.
