Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A man has been arrested following a breach of recognizance in connection with a domestic incident that occurred on October 19, 2024.
The accused, a 29-year-old Wallaceburg resident, was bound by specific conditions as part of a recognizance agreement entered into on May 13, 2024.
On the evening of the incident, police received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a location on James Street in Wallaceburg.
Initial reports indicated that the accused had contacted the police, claiming that the victim attempted to run him over, resulting in a collision with a nearby building.
However, video surveillance footage revealed that the accused was a passenger in a vehicle that reversed into the structure, after which he exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Despite efforts to locate the accused, he remained at large until April 28, 2025, when he was located by Walpole Island Police.
He was subsequently arrested on the warrant issued for breach of recognizance and has been released with a court date scheduled for May 26, 2025.
