Bail violations in Dover

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 23, 2024, the man was arrested and charged with Assault and Mischief Under $5000.

Following this incident, he was presented in court, where a Justice of the Peace issued a Release Order with conditions, including a prohibition against contacting a woman.

On April 30, 2025, at approximately 1:32 p.m., officers from the Chatham-Kent Police Service’s Bail Compliance Unit conducted a routine compliance check at the man’s residence.

Upon arrival, officers heard a woman’s voice coming from inside the apartment.

After knocking, they were greeted by the individual, who stated he was engaged in watching videos on a social media platform.

The officers requested and were granted access to the apartment.

Upon entering, they discovered the woman concealed in a darkened bedroom.

At 2:06 p.m., the 51-year-old Dover Township man was arrested for failing to comply with the conditions of the Release Order.

He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held for bail.
