Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 1, 2025, at approximately 8:22 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a property in Chatham.
An individual unlawfully entered an unattached shed and stole a tin of pellet gun BBs. When confronted by the property owner, the suspect fled, inadvertently dropping the stolen items.
Police located the suspect a short distance from the scene and arrested him.
During the arrest, officers discovered break-in tools, specifically a pair of bolt cutters, in his possession.
The 42-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing multiple charges, including breaking and entering, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and failure to comply with a probation order.
The man is also subject to several outstanding warrants and was held for bail.
