Two people arrested after a retail theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two people have been arrested after a theft at a retail store in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a report of theft on May 6 at about 7:51 p.m. at a store on Richmond Street.

Police say a 31-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Chatham, allegedly stole several items and fled the scene.

With the help of a description, officers located the suspects a few blocks away and arrested them.

They were taken to police headquarters and later released with a court date set for June 2.
