Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On May 17, 2025, at 5:05 p.m., members of the Sarnia Police Service responded to a report of a male slumped over the steering wheel of a pickup truck.
The caller reported the vehicle was running and in drive, but stopped in a parking lot on the 600 block of Murphy Road.
Officers contained the vehicle to prevent it being put into motion, and for several minutes attempted to rouse the driver inside the locked vehicle.
Upon becoming responsive, police observed signs of impairment and the driver (lone occupant) was placed under arrest.
A search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of a significant amount of Fentanyl.
A 40-year-old Sarnia man was held for bail on charges of: possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
The total amount of suspected Fentanyl seized was 112.58 grams, with an estimated street value of $16,887.
IP was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The investigation remains ongoing.
