Arrest made after a B&E at a home under construction in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, May 22, 2025, police responded to the area of Northland Dr., Chatham, after receiving reports of a suspicious person entering a home under construction.

The male suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Based on descriptors provided to police, the male suspect was located a short distance away and subsequently placed under arrest after a preliminary investigation was conducted.

The 27-year-old Chatham man was charged with several Criminal Code offences, including Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Mischief Under $5000, and Breach of Probation.

He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
