Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) is bringing an afternoon of feline fun to the Chatham Cultural Centre on Saturday, May 31, with Purrs, Paws, & Popcorn: A PAWR Cat Comedy Event.
The family-friendly fundraiser runs from noon to 4 p.m. and features a rotating schedule of cat video screenings and cuddle sessions with adoptable shelter cats. Guests will be treated to 30 minutes of funny feline footage followed by 20 minutes of interaction with real cats from PAWR’s care. Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase, adding a movie-theatre feel to the experience, while a relaxed lounge area will offer space for guests to connect over their love of animals.
PAWR executive director Myriam Armstrong said the event blends the organization’s mission with a lighthearted atmosphere designed to bring people together.
“This event combines everything we love — cats, community, and a good laugh,” said Armstrong. “Whether you’re five or 95, you’ll leave smiling — and maybe even with a new furry friend in mind.”
Tickets will be available through PAWR’s website at www.pawr.org, with all proceeds supporting local animal rescue and care programs.
The event takes place at Studio One inside the Chatham Cultural Centre.
Because when it comes to cats being ridiculous, everyone deserves a front-row seat.
