Fred Dubuque

John Frederick ‘Fred’ Dubuque of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully in Tilbury on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the age of 82.

Fred was the son of the late Jules & Josephine (Martin) Dubuque.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Ada May (Waldeck).

Loving father of Carrie Gauthier (Shannon), John Dubuque (Jess), Cindy Dubuque (Joe), Amy Roegiest (Troy), Jennifer Dubuque (Nathan) and the late Tammy Dubuque.

Dear grandfather of Chris (Michelle), Lori (Kyle), Michael, Mat, Maggie, Austin, Jamie, Owen, Liam, Brittany, Andrew, Bradley (Ashley), Brittany, Sabrina, Samantha (Kyle), Brian (Kayla), Darian, Jewels and Alicia.

Great grandfather and great great grandfather to many.

Brother of the late Joe, Willie, Ozie, Eva Blair, Cecelia Leveille, Elaine Jenkins and Ana Meloche.

He is deeply missed by his dog Buddy and cat Molly.

Fred had retired from Navistar after 27 years.

He enjoyed donating his time with the Knights of Columbus – running the kitchen at the hall for over 20 years, with the Lions Club-taking seniors to Mitchell’s Bay for BBQs and the Optimist Club.

He attended the Alzheimer Association Day Away Program.

Fred and Ada trailered at Grand Bend and Stoney Point and camping in a pop up camper for years as his children grew up, often playing the guitar and spoons around the campfire.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He helped bring pigeon racing back to Wallaceburg and enjoyed bowling, cards, gardening and raising birds.

Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Wednesday, June 11 from 4 – 7 PM.

A private family celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date.
