Wallaceburg Baldoon Paddle Event being held for Wallaceburg’s 150th on June 29

Wallaceburg is marking its 150th anniversary with a splash as paddlers take to the water for the Wallaceburg Baldoon Paddle Event on June 29, 2025.

Hosted by the Wallaceburg and District Museum, this event promises an exciting mix of competition and camaraderie, making it a perfect way to celebrate the town’s rich history.

Museum board member and secretary Gert McClure discusses the day of paddling, saying organizers are hopeful it will become an annual event.

Paddlers looking for a challenge can take on the 20K competitive race, starting at Brander Park in Port Lambton and finishing at Glasstown Brewery in Wallaceburg.

For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, the 5K recreational paddle offers a scenic loop from Crothers Park, ideal for casual participants.

Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are all welcome, ensuring that anyone with a passion for paddling can join in the fun.

The festivities don’t end on the water.

Once participants cross the finish line, Glasstown Brewing Company will host post-race celebrations featuring live music, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to reflect on a memorable day.

Whether racing for victory or simply enjoying the ride, this event is a unique way to commemorate Wallaceburg’s milestone.
