George Murphy

With peaceful but heavy hearts we announce that George Edward Murphy, a proud lifelong Port Lambton farmer passed on June 11, 2025 at the age of 89.

George has now been reunited with his beloved wife Ruth (2024) and will be remembered lovingly by his children Richard Murphy (Heather), Randy Murphy (Caroline), Rodney Murphy, Michael Murphy (Renee), George Roberts and Terryann Murphy. Dear grandfather of Zackary, Abbygail, Nicklas, Katrina, Craig, Chris, Keith, Melissa, Dayna, Jules, Stephanie, Michael, Jessica, Kyle and his 18 great grandchildren. Son of the late Clarence and Elsie Murphy and dear brother of James Murphy (the late June) and the late Hazel Pretty (Dave) and Marvin Murphy (Ann).

George was a long time and active member of both the Whitebread and Port Lambton United Church’s. His family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Trillium Villa Nursing Home in Sarnia for the exceptional care, love and support given to George over his time there.

Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:30am until the time of his funeral service at 12:30pm. A time of fellowship and refreshment to follow at the Cavanagh Reception Centre. Ruth and George will be laid to rest together at Riverview Cemetery at a later date during a private family ceremony.
