Greenhill Gardens closing for the foreseeable future

The St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation has made the difficult decision to close Greenhill Gardens located on Wilkesport Line in the Township of St. Clair for the foreseeable future.

The closure will be effective June 16, 2025.

“The decision was made due to unforeseen and ongoing challenges including vegetation management, infrastructure concerns, and limited staffing and resources which have made it increasingly difficult to maintain the property to the standards expected by the community and visitors,” SCRCA officials stated.

“Events and other bookings have been fully refunded using the original form of payment.”

Greenhill Gardens was acquired by the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation through a donation by the Robson family.

The property, located on the corner of Wilkesport Line and Indian Creek Line, features a 2.4-hectare (6 acre) garden, 7.7-hectare (19 acre) woodlot, and 30 hectares (74 acres) of agricultural land.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation (SCRCF) is a registered, charitable organization with the purpose of raising funds to support the conservation programs of the Authority.

The organization accepts donations and raises funds through the dedication of volunteers and staff who organize local fundraisers.

The Foundation supports a number of initiatives including conservation education; tree planting; the protection of wetlands, soils and forests; and upgrades to conservation area facilities and amenities.
