The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are set to honour Indigenous Peoples’ Day with a special celebration at Fergie Jenkins Field on Friday, June 21, 2025.
The Barnstormers will take on the Barrie Baycats at 7:35 p.m., but the night is about more than just baseball. The event will feature a ceremonial first pitch thrown by the Bkejwanong Chief, a visit from a 2025 Miss Indigenous Canada contestant, and plenty of giveaways and family fun throughout the evening.
To mark the occasion, the first 100 Indigenous spectators will receive free admission. Organizers say the game is a chance to recognize and celebrate Indigenous culture and community through sport.
