Disturbance leads to charges

On June 28 2025 at 6:13pm police were called to the area of Christina St and Wellington St in Sarnia for a report of a male walking into traffic on Christina St. Further calls reported that he had moved to the sidewalk and was threatening random bystanders.

Police arrived within minutes and located the suspect in front of City Hall. The male was instantly highly agitated with officers and stated that he would continue to walk wherever he wanted. The male’s behaviour disrupted everyone within earshot, including a nearby patio full of patrons.

Officer attempts to deescalate the male and determine the source of his behaviour was met with anger. He began yelling at the officers to ensure they were aware of his personal beliefs regarding their job performance, legal knowledge, and arrest authorities. The male escalated further by raising his fists toward police, and threatening violence to anyone in the immediate area. Police responded with the display of a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW), advising that its use was imminent. He was taken into custody at that time (no CEW was discharged).

A 54 years-old-man of no fixed address, has been held for bail on charges of:

Mischief (interfere with the lawful enjoyment of property)
Causing a Disturbance
Breach of Probation
