Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 3:12 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Kenesserie Road and Gosnell Line in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
The collision involved two vehicles. Upon arrival, emergency crews assessed all occupants for injuries. In one vehicle, a 64-year-old female driver from Howard Township, along with three younger passengers, were transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with minor injuries.
The second vehicle was driven by an 80-year-old female from Newbury, who sustained life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a hospital in Newbury, Ontario, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, the Traffic Management Unit was called in to lead the investigation. The area was closed for several hours but has since been reopened. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
