The second annual Matt Cousins Memorial Golf Tournament was held on May 24 with resounding support from sponsors, local businesses, volunteers, and community members.
The event once again proved the power of collective generosity, successfully matching the donation raised in its inaugural year.
Thanks to the combined efforts and enthusiasm of participants and organizers, $35,000 was donated to the Wallaceburg Red Devils, and $5,000 to Leave Your Mark Lacrosse. Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse will also be receiving a donation from the tournament.
These funds will help further youth engagement and foster talent within local lacrosse programs.
Organizers Ellen Muxlow and Eric Ruggles shared their gratitude and insights on how the tournament came together.
They emphasized that such an achievement would not have been possible without the heartfelt support from the Wallaceburg community and beyond.
The tournament continues to serve not only as a tribute to Matt Cousins but also as a symbol of community spirit and collaboration.
