Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Hamilton woman wanted in connection with a major drug seizure has turned herself in to police.
On July 21 at 7:25 a.m., the 22-year-old woman attended Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to address an outstanding warrant.
The warrant stems from a July 2024 traffic stop in Chatham, when the woman was arrested for obstructing police and possessing forged documents. A subsequent search of the vehicle by the Intelligence Unit on Aug. 7, 2024, led to the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, a prohibited weapon, digital scales, Canadian currency, and other items.
Police said the seized drugs included approximately:
– 129.73 grams of cocaine, valued at $12,973
– 1,986.74 grams of methamphetamine, valued at $119,204.40
– 221.99 grams of fentanyl, valued at $55,497.50
The woman was charged with multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
She failed to appear in court on Sept. 6, 2024, and a warrant was issued. She is currently being held for bail.
