Theft at a Petrolia business under investigation

OPP officials allege: The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft that happened at a business in Petrolia.

On July 17, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., an unidentified individual attended a business property on King Street in Petrolia on a bicycle.

The individual entered the property and caused damage to a change machine and proceeded to steal approximately $3,000.

They fled the scene immediately after the incident.

The suspect is described as:

– Male

– Dark brown and white facial goatee

– Carrying a black backpack with beige diamond patch

– Wearing brown cargo style pants, black hooded sweater with green t-shirt over top, and black shoes

The investigation is continuing.

The Lambton County OPP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible for this theft. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
