Rotary Club of Chatham fulfills $250,000 pledge for new CTC playground

The Rotary Club of Chatham has completed its $250,000 pledge to support the new Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent, funding a playground at the future facility on McNaughton Avenue.

The final $80,000 installment was delivered this week, ensuring the playground is fully funded as part of the CTC Foundation’s Build #ForTheKids campaign.

“Creating welcoming, accessible spaces where children can play and thrive aligns perfectly with our mission of giving back to our community,” said outgoing Rotary president Tania Sharpe.

CTC Foundation president Mike Genge said the contribution represents more than financial support, adding that “one in five children in Chatham-Kent depends on CTC’s services.”

The new 55,000-square-foot “Butterfly Building” will include the playground as part of a family-centred design focused on accessibility and inclusivity.
