# FINISH IT.
“Terry Fox gave Canada a dream as big as our country” …..written by the late Canadian newspaper journalist, columnist, and broadcaster Christie Blatchford.
He dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic Ocean on April 12th, 1980, and proceeded to unite Canadians in a way never, nor since, seen. The only thing that could have stopped Terry from reaching the Pacific Ocean did. Cancer returned in his lungs, and he was forced to stop on September 1st, 1980, after having run 5,373 kilometres.
The annual Terry Fox Run has become a classic Canadian tradition. With nearly 600 communities, big and small, urban and rural, English and French, fundraising for cancer research. This year, the 45th year, participate, fundraise, and help finish what Terry started on Sunday, September 14!
As many of you are now familiar, my participation in the annual Wallaceburg Terry Fox Run has become the highlight of my year. I take pride in participating in the Terry Fox Run, knowing the money raised helps many people who have been affected by cancer, and now including myself.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run; it will mark my 30th year of participating in the Event, and our (Moira and myself) 9th year of co-ordinating the event for Wallaceburg. The Terry Fox Run raises money to help fight cancer and to raise awareness for cancer in communities. Wallaceburg’s Terry Fox Run is a community event run by wonderful volunteers and attended by many dedicated participants. Not only does it raise money for research, but it also continues to share the story of Terry Fox.
So, in saying this, I am again requesting your generous support towards my individual fundraising OR by logging onto the Terry Fox Foundation website and searching out my individual sponsor page, or click this link https://run.terryfox.ca/page/bradleyeggett and use a credit card/PayPal. If you have any issues with this site – please contact me and I will assist!
If you would like to donate to another individual or team or just to the Wallaceburg site (#109) log onto the terryfox.org website and search under donate.
Thank you in advance for your consideration – I appreciate your support!
