Municipality of Chatham-Kent officials say beginning Wednesday, August 27, the owners of 55 Queen Street North will have a demolition contractor on site to prepare for demolition.
On Tuesday, September 2, demolition is expected to begin.
The work will be completed within two weeks.
“It is anticipated that the stalled demolition at 47 and 49 Queen Street North will resume in conjunction with the demolition of 55 Queen Street North,” Municipal officials say.
“Minor traffic disruptions are anticipated during demolition however Queen Street North and Superior Street will remain open. We ask that residents use caution when in the area and keep clear of the demolition site.”
The owners of 45 Queen Street North were issued a building permit for repairs to the wall/structures on that property.
Work is anticipated to begin later this fall, Municipal officials added.
