Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 23-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested Sept. 25 at the Bluewater Bridge on an outstanding warrant, Chatham-Kent police said.
The man had been under a release order since April 2024 prohibiting him from possessing or using cell phones or internet-enabled electronic devices unless required for work. Police said he repeatedly violated that order by communicating with witnesses and accessing internet applications throughout 2024 and 2025.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and border services officers took him into custody at approximately 8:10 p.m. Thursday.
He has been charged with six counts of failing to comply with a release order and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police thanked the Canada Border Services Agency for its assistance.
