The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is sponsoring a themed “Learning Tree” as part of this year’s Merry Magic CK fundraising event, running from November 12 to 30, 2025.
The initiative supports Noelle’s Gift to Children, a charitable organization that helps students in both the Lambton Kent and St. Clair Catholic District School Boards access essentials they need to thrive.
The LKDSB Learning Tree will be featured in the event’s Magic Tree Raffle, where decorated trees surrounded by donated items will be up for bids. The LKDSB’s entry will be filled with learning-themed gifts such as books, STEM kits, art supplies, tech tools, and educational games, all donated by LKDSB staff and school communities.
“We’ve already seen an incredible response,” said Caress Lee, chairperson for Noelle’s Gift to Children (Chatham-Kent) and public relations officer for LKDSB. “Teams are coming together to donate larger, themed gifts. Classrooms are participating while teaching students about community and the importance of giving back. Departments are choosing items that reflect their work and values. It’s a beautiful example of our LKDSB family in action.”
Funds raised through the raffle and other Merry Magic CK activities will go directly to Noelle’s Gift to Children, supporting initiatives such as emergency funds for daily essentials, nutritional food for students, and stocking Noelle’s Gift Closets in schools across Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton.
More than 15 trees have already been sponsored for the Magic Tree Raffle, and organizers are hoping to reach 30 or more. Local businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to get involved.
