The Bkejwanong community will come together to honour American and Canadian veterans during its annual Remembrance Day ceremony, Mkwenmaanaanig Giizhgad, on Monday, November 10, 2025.
The event begins at 10 a.m. with a walk from the Bkejwanong Children’s Centre to the community’s Veterans Monument. The ceremony is expected to last about an hour and is open to all community members and guests.
Hosted by the Bkejwanong Children’s Centre, the event is held in collaboration with Anishinaabe Kinomaagewgamig, Bkejwanong Kinomaagewgamig, Bkejwanong Biiweziimag Kinomaagewgamig, and WDSS Future Elders.
The theme of the ceremony, Mnaden’nim, Gchi-piitenim, Ge Mikwenim — “Honour, Respect, and Remember” — reflects the community’s commitment to recognizing the sacrifices of veterans from both sides of the border.
