Kenneth ‘Grant’ Debnam

Kenneth “Grant” Debnam passed away at the age of 73 on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Chatham-Kent Hospice. Grant was born in Lindsay, Ontario and was a son of the late Clifford and Jean (Brethour) Debnam. Beloved husband of Amelia “Mimi” (Laba) Debnam.Wonderful, loving step-dad to Terry (Bill), John (Lori), Scott (Lisa), Todd (Darlene) and daughter Michelle (Graham). Predeceased by his sons Tracy, Paul (Cheryl) and Wayne Michael (Kathy). Brother to Clair (Barbara), Laurie (Jan), Sharron and predeceased by Dale (Karen). Enjoyable fun times with 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Brother-in-law to Polly, Rita (Gary), Betty and Paul. He will be missed by many nieces, cousins and friends. Grant began his career as a Tool and Die maker at Vanatters in Wallaceburg. He then had the opportunity to work in Oshawa at General Motors as a Tool and Die supervisor. Retiring after 36 years. Grant and Mimi then returned to Wallaceburg after 40 years and it was no surprise he began driving as a professional driver for Ford and Riverview (Wallaceburg) and a lengthy 10 years plus from Sarnia at Progressive Auto Sales. He loved driving and was a perfectionist and enjoyed his time in Sarnia, working for Whittons. Grant spent many hours creating and maintaining a beautiful yard with Mimi, they loved the outdoors. The late Kenneth “Grant” Debnam rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Following Grant’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
