Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 65-year-old Sarnia man faces multiple criminal charges following a dispute at a residential rental property on October 23, 2025. Police were called to a building on the 200 block of London Road at approximately 4:00 p.m.
The incident began when a resident confronted a maintenance worker about a damaged cupboard door inside an apartment unit. An argument ensued that escalated into pushing and shoving. The resident then produced a pair of brass knuckles and conveyed a clear desire to assault the worker with them. The resident subsequently called 9-1-1 and expressed to the police dispatcher his intent to assault the worker further.
Attending officers placed the man under arrest and seized the brass knuckles. At the time of this offence, the accused was out on bail with court-ordered conditions to not possess weapons. There were no physical injuries reported from the altercation. While in police custody, the accused expressed his displeasure by urinating all over his toilet-equipped cell, resulting in an additional charge of mischief being laid.
The accused was held for a bail hearing on charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with a release order, and mischief under $5000. Following his bail hearing, the man was released by the court with conditions.
The Sarnia Police note that this is the 53rd interaction with this individual since November 2024, which includes four arrests and eleven criminal charges.
