Blenheim man arrested in counterfeit money investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 50-year-old Blenheim man has been arrested in connection with a counterfeit money investigation stemming from an incident last month.

Police say the investigation began September 12, 2025, when officers were called to a business on Chatham Street North in Blenheim after counterfeit Canadian currency was used to make a purchase.

Using surveillance footage, investigators identified a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On October 26, 2025, officers located the man on Forsyth Street in Chatham and arrested him on the outstanding warrant. He was charged with uttering counterfeit money and possession of counterfeit money, and later released with conditions and a court date of December 2, 2025.
