Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham-Kent man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a previous property damage incident on Wellington Street West.
Police said the original incident occurred on October 24 around 11 p.m., when officers responded to a disturbance at a local auditorium. An individual was reported to have broken the front windowpane of the entrance doors and damaged exterior lighting.
CCTV footage helped investigators identify the accused, a 31-year-old Chatham-Kent man, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On October 30, at about 4:38 p.m., officers located the man on Wellington Street and took him into custody. He was charged with mischief under $5,000 and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he was held for a bail hearing.
