Dresden gears up for holiday pub crawl supporting local charities

Dresden will host its annual pub crawl on Saturday, December 6, bringing the community together to celebrate the holiday season while supporting local charitable organizations.

The event begins at noon, with a live band performing at the Dresden Legion at 5 p.m. Admission is free. Organizers say strong attendance is key, as food and beverage sales at participating venues help fund community initiatives.

“There is no cover charge, so strong attendance is key to ensuring each venue benefits from food and beverage sales — all of which support their community initiatives,” said John Cummings of the Dresden Pub Crawl Committee.

The event features four themed venues. The Dresden Legion offers a “Canadiana” experience with maple-infused cocktails, peameal sandwiches, poutine, and folk tunes. Side Streets becomes a “Christmas Café” with warm drinks, festive treats, and seasonal music. The Rotary Wheelhouse hosts “North Pole Fun and Games,” with family-friendly holiday activities and Santa’s special cocktails until 4 p.m. Kinsmen Hall presents an “East Coast Christmas Oyster Bar” with seafood dishes, east coast-style cocktails, and maritime music.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together while giving back to the organizations that support Dresden year-round,” Cummings said.
