Canadian Blood Services will hold a blood donor clinic in Wallaceburg on Dec. 16. The clinic will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at UAW Local 251, located at 88 Elm Drive South.
Canadian Blood Services is a not-for-profit charitable organization regulated by Health Canada as a biologics manufacturer and funded primarily by provincial and territorial ministries of health. It operates nationally, providing blood, plasma and stem cell services on behalf of every province and territory except Quebec. The agency also manages the national transplant registry for interprovincial organ sharing and related programs.
The organization says recent survey findings highlight the continued need for donor engagement. The survey, conducted between Sept. 26 and Oct. 1 among a representative sample of 1,500 adults from the Angus Reid Forum, was carried out in English and French. Canadian Blood Services notes that a probability sample of that size would carry a margin of error of plus or minus 2.53 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
More information about donation and eligibility is available through Canadian Blood Services.
