Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 35-year-old Chatham woman has turned herself in following an altercation at a drive-through late last month.
Police were called to a St. Clair Street restaurant on Nov. 29 after a staff member reported a customer became verbally aggressive about her order. The customer left the store but then returned to the drive-through window and spat at the employee. Witnesses confirmed the behaviour, and surveillance footage identified the suspect.
A warrant was issued for a charge of assault. On Dec. 5 at 4 p.m., the woman attended Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and surrendered to police. She was released with conditions and given a future court date.
