The Chatham-Kent Public Library has added a new Early Literacy Station at its Wheatley branch, made possible through support from UE Enclosures.
The station is a child-friendly computer equipped with a child-sized keyboard and mouse, offering a safe and interactive digital learning environment. It features bilingual educational games in French and English that help build early literacy and math skills, including letter and number recognition, phonics, rhyming and storytelling. The learning stations are designed to be entertaining for children while giving parents an option that combines screen time with educational value.
The computer is placed on an accessible table to ensure all patrons can use it comfortably. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis during Wheatley branch hours, which are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For more information, residents can contact the Wheatley branch at 519-825-7131.
