14th annual Jingle All the Way Run/Walk raises $1,800 in Wallaceburg

The 14th annual Jingle All the Way Run/Walk was held on Saturday, December 13, bringing together community members for a festive and charitable tradition.

What began years ago with a small group of running friends known as ‘the squirrels’ has since grown to include the Defiance Running Club, with the event now hosted at The Black Goose Grill in Wallaceburg, serving as both the starting and finishing point.

This year’s run saw 83 participants lace up and take part, raising an impressive $1,800.

The funds will go directly toward scholarships at Wallaceburg District Secondary School, ensuring that the spirit of giving continues well beyond the finish line.

In addition to the fundraising, participants also brought in and donated running shoes to Homes for Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope and improving quality of life for people in El Salvador.

Mike deBakker was present to accept the donation, adding another meaningful layer to the day’s efforts.

The event has become a highlight of the holiday season, combining fitness, friendship, and community support in a way that reflects the heart of Wallaceburg.
