Update: Situation ‘resolved’ after an investigation on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg

UPDATE: Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to advise the public that the police investigation in the area of Wallace Street in Wallaceburg has been resolved.

“The increased police presence has concluded and all roads in the area are now open and clear,” police officials said in an email to the media.

“Thank you to residents and motorists for your patience and cooperation during this incident.”

Chatham-Kent police are advising the public to avoid the area of Wallace Street in Wallaceburg due to an active police investigation.

Police said in a public advisory, issued at 2:04 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, there is an increased police presence in the area as officers work to resolve the situation safely and peacefully.

Members of the public are asked to keep a safe distance and avoid nearby streets, including Murray Street, Victoria Street and Bruce Street.

Police say updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
