Excitement is building across local Catholic school communities as the St. Clair Catholic District School Board prepares to welcome its youngest learners through KinderSTARt, a program designed to introduce children and families to kindergarten and school life.
Running from Jan. 13 to Jan. 28, 2026, KinderSTARt invites families to visit their local schools, meet educators and connect with community partners who support children and families as they begin their school journey. The sessions are designed to create a welcoming environment where children can explore their new surroundings and begin building confidence ahead of kindergarten.
“KinderSTARt helps children and families feel comfortable and connected as they prepare for kindergarten,” said Lisa Demers, Director of Education. “It’s an exciting first step that supports a smooth, positive transition into school.”
Families who attend KinderSTARt will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on activities, explore a kindergarten classroom, meet school staff and experience the sense of community within St. Clair Catholic schools. Children will also receive a KinderSTARt t-shirt and a swag bag while supplies last.
The program is open to all families, including those who have already registered for kindergarten and those who are still exploring their school options. Advance registration is encouraged to help secure a spot and ensure children receive a t-shirt and swag bag.
