The Wallaceburg and District Museum has received a significant donation celebrating decades of local boating history.

In December, the museum accepted a collection of artifacts from the Wallaceburg chapter of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons. The Wallaceburg Power and Sail Squadron was a volunteer organization dedicated to boating education, safety training and community service, offering nationally recognized courses and promoting safe and enjoyable boating. The local squadron operated in Wallaceburg from 1960 until 2024.
The donation includes flags, photographs and historical information, along with a bell and a ship’s helm. Museum officials say the items are a treasured addition to the collection and help preserve an important part of the community’s maritime heritage. The artifacts are currently on display at the Wallaceburg and District Museum.
Those involved in the donation include, from left to right, Mike Croxford, Neale Cofell, Mavis Colyer and Kaelyn Gregory, curator of the Wallaceburg and District Museum. Kevin Woods was absent.
