Chatham-Kent man arrested on mischief charge and outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested following a mischief investigation and an outstanding warrant.

Police say they responded to a mischief complaint at a residence on Patteson Avenue in Chatham on Jan. 11, 2026, at about 7:45 p.m. The complainant reported that her son had damaged her television during a verbal argument. When the man could not be located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Jan. 15, 2026, at about 4:28 p.m., officers observed the man riding in a taxicab on Wellington Street East in Chatham. He was arrested for mischief and on a bench warrant related to another matter, then transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

He faces charges of two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and mischief under $5,000.
