The WDSS Tartan Booster Club is bringing back its annual fundraising tournament with a new winter twist this year, combining indoor golf and cornhole to raise money for a major gym renovation project.
The event takes place Saturday, February 28 at Par 72 and replaces the Booster Club’s traditional outdoor tournament. Organizers say the goal is to offer something fresh while continuing to support athletics and school spirit at Wallaceburg District Secondary School.
Participants can choose to compete in indoor golf, cornhole, or both. The indoor golf tournament will feature four separate tee times, allowing players to select the option that best fits their schedule. The cornhole tournament will begin with check-in at noon, followed by games starting at 1 p.m., with a format designed to give every team a chance to advance.

All funds raised from the event will go toward the WDSS gym revitalization project, which is scheduled to move ahead this summer. The project will include upgrades and improvements aimed at benefiting every student who uses the space.
The Tartan Booster Club is also running its first-ever online 50/50 raffle, with proceeds supporting the same fundraising goal. Organizers say the club is working toward raising $40,000 to complete the gym upgrades.

Since its inception, the Booster Club has raised more than $250,000 for WDSS, supporting athletics, the arts, and a wide range of school initiatives.
Lozon Construction is returning as the event’s major sponsor, continuing its support of local students and school programming. Organizers say the partnership has helped make the new combined tournament possible.
Registration is now open, and community members are encouraged to take part, purchase 50/50 tickets, or simply come out to support the Booster Club and the WDSS community.
