James Street Ministry supports families through free community baby cupboard in Wallaceburg (Video)

James Street Ministry operates a free community baby cupboard for mothers in need in Wallaceburg, Walpole Island and the surrounding area.

The cupboard is open on the second Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at St. James Anglican Church.

Families can pick up formula, diapers, wipes, clothing and other essentials, and are encouraged to bring their own bags. The program runs out of Steinhoff Hall at 719 James Street.

Janice Murphy, a volunteer with the ministry, said the cupboard relies heavily on donations from local businesses and community members.

She said the support they receive makes it possible to keep the shelves stocked for families who depend on the service.

The ministry accepts donations ranging from diapers and wipes to car seats, cribs and clothing.

Anyone wishing to donate can arrange a pickup by sending a private message to the Mom’s Baby Cupboard Facebook page.
