Man arrested for public intoxication in Thamesville

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Police arrested a 36-year-old man Tuesday evening after responding to a report of an intoxicated person running on a roadway.

Chatham-Kent police were called to London Road in Thamesville around 7:15 p.m. on February 3. Officers located the man and observed behaviour consistent with public intoxication. He was arrested for public safety reasons and transported to police headquarters.

The man was released once sober and issued a provincial offence notice. Police say public intoxication can pose serious risks to both the individual involved and others nearby.
