A Yellow Advisory for blowing snow is in effect as of 5:27 a.m. Friday, February 6, with moderate impact and high forecast confidence. Poor visibility is expected to develop this afternoon as a low-pressure system brings 4 to 8 cm of snow, followed by strong northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h, creating widespread blowing snow and near-zero visibility in exposed areas. Conditions will persist through tonight and may continue into Saturday morning, with very cold wind chills also developing overnight. Travel is expected to be hazardous and road closures are possible. Motorists are urged to carry emergency supplies such as blankets and jumper cables, postpone non-essential travel if possible, and if stranded, remain with your vehicle and seek shelter until conditions improve.
