Members of the Wallaceburg community are being invited to Trinity United Church this weekend for a special fundraising event in support of a local church member facing cancer.
The event, known as “Dee Day,” will take place Sunday, Feb. 8, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Church, located at 750 Wellington St.
Organizers say the day will centre on a show of solidarity and compassion, with Dee Heath, Skip Harvey and Josh Powers shaving their heads in support of Sherry Heath as she faces cancer. The event is also serving as a fundraiser for Trinity United Church, with pledges and donations helping the church continue its work in the community.
The Heath family said they are grateful for the ongoing support from Trinity United Church and the broader community, noting the event reflects the caring spirit the church strives to embody.
Donations will be accepted at the event, with all contributions eligible for a tax receipt. Those unable to attend in person can donate by e-transfer to tuc.offering@gmail.com, or find additional information at www.trinitywallaceburg.com.
For more details, Trinity United Church can also be reached at 519-627-1472.
Organizers are encouraging residents to attend, cheer on the participants, and take part in what they describe as a very special and meaningful day.
